Infrastructure development with the goal of maximizing the potential for:

  Basic research:

v  investigations of the plasmas produced during thin-film deposition PVD processes;

v  studies of deposition transient plasmas with enhanced spatio-temporal resolution;

v  research on the kinetics of ion bombardment-assisted thin film growth;

v  studies on nanocomposites and heterostructures in the development of nanostructured thin films.

  Applied research in optics, optoelectronics, microelectronics, medicine, quality improvement of various categories of industrial goods:

v  High-rate deposition of coatings by cathodic arc and reactive cathodic arc.

v  DC and pulsed reactive magnetron sputtering for the deposition of coatings with:

o   superior tribological properties;

o   increased resistance to corrosion in a range of unfavorable conditions;

o   specific reflectivity and absorption characteristics of materials at various wavelengths.

v  Vacuum thermal evaporation of:

o   thin films with low roughness;

o   oxides based thin films for structural colors.
